At Rana Handicrafts International, we are thrilled to announce the successful installation of our meticulously crafted domes and Palki Sahib structures at the newly constructed Gurdwara Sahib in Navi Mumbai. A team of five skilled artisans from Rana Handicrafts International traveled to Mumbai (Maharashtra) to oversee this installation, ensuring the process went smoothly from start to finish. The project was completed efficiently, and we are delighted to share that our esteemed clients expressed immense satisfaction with the quality and durability of our work.
Trusted Partner for Gurdwara Sahib Structures
As an organization committed to preserving the architectural legacy of Sikh heritage, we were honored to be entrusted with the responsibility of supplying and installing these essential structures. The project involved manufacturing and delivering a 12-foot diameter Gurdwara Sahib Dome and a 9-foot dome, along with four corner Palki Sahibs for the Darshani Deori and two 4-foot Khandas for the main entrance gate. All elements were fabricated using multi-layered silicon fiber reinforced with MS framing, designed to withstand the challenging weather conditions of Mumbai (Maharashtra), ensuring durability, stability, and aesthetic appeal.
High-Quality Dome Craftsmanship
Our Gurdwara Sahib domes (Gumbads) are carefully crafted to embody the spiritual and architectural symbolism intrinsic to Sikhism, while offering unmatched resilience. These domes are made from a durable multi-layered silicon fiber material, reinforced with robust MS frame structures to ensure that they remain stable even in high winds. In contrast to lighter fiberglass shells that may appear attractive but are unable to endure adverse weather, our domes represent a commitment to both beauty and function, designed to serve their purpose for generations.
Importance of MS Framing and Traditional Design
Incorporating the traditional MS framing is key to our work. Our dome with a diameter of 12 feet and a height of 18 feet is reinforced with 1.6-inch square MS pipes, expertly bent as recommended by structural engineers. This careful construction provides optimal wind resistance and ensures structural integrity. Additionally, the MS frame is treated with a weather-resistant primer and coated in black to prevent rust, even in humid environments. Our use of high-quality materials and traditional design methods allows these domes to stand as a testament to the sacred architectural style seen in landmarks such as Sri Harminder Sahib (Golden Temple) in Amritsar.
It brings us great pride to share photos capturing each stage of this installation project. At Rana Handicrafts International, we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such an esteemed project, and we remain committed to upholding the highest standards in Gurdwara Sahib architecture. This installation marks another milestone in our journey to preserve and celebrate the architectural heritage of Sikhism.
