At Rana Handicrafts International, we are honored to have been entrusted with the responsibility to manufacture and supply top-quality, all-weather-resistant Gurdwara Sahib Domes (Gumbads), 4 Corner Palki Sahibs for Darshani Deori, Khandas for the entrance gate, IkOnkar for the Darbar Sahib, and majestic Khalsa sculptures. These handcrafted, multi-layered silicon fiber products are being shipped to GURU GHAR - SIKH TEMPLE in Washington DC, USA.
High-Quality Gurdwara Sahib Dome (Gumbad) Manufacturing:
Our Gurdwara Sahib Domes (Gumbads) are meticulously crafted to reflect the essence of Sikh architecture while ensuring durability and resilience in extreme weather conditions. We are committed to maintaining the traditional design and symbolism of the Gurdwara Sahib Domes, ensuring that every piece stands as a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Sikhism.
12 Foot Diameter Gurdwara Sahib Dome:
This dome, with a diameter of 12 feet and a height of 18 feet, is reinforced with a robust MS Frame Structure to withstand the high winds and extreme temperatures of Washington, USA. Unlike other manufacturers who often overlook the importance of internal support, our domes are engineered to endure, providing stability and long-term durability. Many other domes in the market, though visually appealing, are mere lightweight fiberglass shells that fail to withstand even moderate winds. We take pride in delivering domes that not only look beautiful but also serve their purpose for decades.
Importance of Proper MS Framing:
The Gurdwara Sahib Dome (Gumbad) is more than just a structural element; it is the soul of the Gurdwara’s architecture. It’s crucial to maintain the traditional design, as seen in iconic structures like the Gumbad of Sri Harminder Sahib (Golden Temple) in Amritsar. At Rana Handicrafts International, we preserve this sacred legacy by manufacturing Gurdwara Sahib Domes that conform to the traditions, using multi-layered silicon fiber reinforced with MS framing.
Material & Construction:
Our Gurdwara Sahib Domes are made with multi-layered silicon fiber, reinforced with 1.6" square MS pipes, expertly bent as per structural engineer recommendations. This design allows the dome to effectively cut through winds, reducing the direct impact of strong gusts. The MS frame is treated with a high-quality, weather-resistant primer and painted in black to prevent corrosion, ensuring the dome’s longevity even in the most humid environments.
Life-Size Khalsa Sculptures:
Additionally, we have produced two life-size Khalsa Warrior Sculptures, made from high-quality fiberglass. These statues, meticulously painted to perfection, are to be placed at the Gurdwara Sahib’s entrance, symbolizing strength, valor, and Sikh heritage.
Superior Materials for Durability:
All our Gurdwara Sahib Domes, Palki Sahibs, and sculptures are crafted using the finest quality silicon fiber. The silicon fiber is layered with Tool Grade Resin and RPL /100 unsaturated polyester resin, combined with Emulsion Matt 450GSM and 600GSM Grade, resulting in an approximate thickness of 5 mm. The MS frame structure is included in all domes above 4 feet in diameter to ensure structural integrity and longevity.
Khanda & IkOnkar Symbols:
We’ve also crafted four 3-foot Khandas and two 2-foot IkOnkar symbols, both in golden color, to be installed at the Gurdwara Sahib’s entry and Darbar Sahib, respectively. These symbols, made from first-quality silicon fiber, are designed to withstand the humid environment, maintaining their beauty and significance.
Palki Sahib for Darshani Deori:
We have crafted four stunning 3ft x 3ft Palki Sahibs to be placed at the four corners of the Gurdwara Sahib’s Darshani Deori (entry gate). These square-type Palki Sahibs, made from multi-layered silicon fiber, complement the central 12-foot Gurdwara Sahib Dome, enhancing the overall aesthetics of the Gurdwara Sahib Ji. Each Palki Sahib is topped with a 3-foot dome, creating a majestic and harmonious structure.
2 Foot Gumbads for the Entrance Gate:
To further enhance the Gurdwara Sahib’s entrance, we have manufactured two 2-foot diameter Domes (Gumbads). These domes, weighing approximately 5 kg each, are finished in a vibrant golden color with a lacquer coating, ensuring they retain their shine and beauty for many years.
Empowering Women in the Workforce:
At Rana Handicrafts International, we believe in empowering women, with over 40% of our workforce being skilled female artisans.
