The PK5 Palki Sahib is constructed using the finest first-quality silicon fiber, reinforced with a robust MS frame structure to ensure durability and strength. This premium material choice guarantees that the Palki Sahib remains a lasting symbol of reverence in the Gurdwara. The frame is designed not only for sturdiness but also to maintain a balanced and graceful appearance.

The palki is finished in a bright golden hue, radiating elegance and spiritual grandeur. This golden finish was chosen to capture the light of devotion, making the Palki Sahib not only a sacred resting place for the Guru Granth Sahib but also an architectural highlight of the Gurdwara Sahib.

Accompanying Sacred Components

Alongside the main Palki Sahib for Keeping Guru Granth Sahib Ji, we’ve also crafted a large Peeda Sahib (measuring 4ft x 2ft 6inch), designed to complement the Palki’s serene atmosphere. This Peeda Sahib will hold sacred Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

2 small Pidi Sahib is also included, designed specifically for holding the Chaur Sahib Ji and Parsaad Bowl, completing the set with both functionality and grace.

Dasuya (also known as Dasua), a serene town in the Hoshiarpur district of Punjab, India, recently witnessed the installation of a magnificent 12ft diameter dome along with four corner Palki Sahibs at its revered Gurdwara Sahib. This significant project was undertaken by us at Rana Handicrafts International, showcasing our unparalleled craftsmanship and dedication to serving the Sikh community worldwide.

Project Overview

The authorities of Gurdwara Sahib at Dasuya approached us with the vision of a dome that would not only be a spiritual centerpiece but also a visual landmark visible from across the town. They required a beautifully designed 12ft diameter MS-reinforced dome to be installed atop a towering 50ft high burj (minaret). Alongside this, they needed four intricately designed corner Palki Sahibs to complement the grandeur of the main dome.

Our team immediately rose to the challenge, combining traditional artistry with modern engineering to create a structure that is both aesthetically stunning and structurally robust.

Craftsmanship and Manufacturing

The dome was meticulously crafted by our highly skilled workers at our state-of-the-art workshop under the supervision of Uday Veer Singh Rana, Proprietor of Rana Handicrafts International. Key highlights of the dome’s construction include:

  • Material Excellence: A 7mm thick shell of high-quality silicon fiber was reinforced with an MS (mild steel) frame structure to ensure durability and resistance to extreme weather conditions.
  • Precision Design: The dome was crafted with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring its beauty and longevity.

In addition to the dome, four corner Palki Sahibs were manufactured in a bright golden finish, matching the dome’s regal appearance. These were carefully packed and delivered to the Gurdwara Sahib via a transport truck.

Installation Challenges and Triumphs

Once the dome was delivered to Dasuya, the installation posed a unique challenge. The narrow approach to the site made it difficult for a large crane to access the area. After significant effort and coordination, the crane was brought to the site, and the installation process began.

Before the dome’s installation, an Ardas (prayer) was conducted, and the local community gathered in large numbers to witness this historic moment. As a mark of respect and devotion, flowers were showered on the dome, symbolizing blessings and good faith.

With precision and teamwork, the dome was carefully lifted and secured atop the 50ft burj. Following this, the Kalash (finial) and Khanda (symbol of Sikh faith) were successfully installed. A final coat of golden paint was applied to enhance its brilliance, followed by a protective lacquer spray to ensure its shine for years to come.

We recommended the Gurdwara committee to repaint the dome every five years to maintain its pristine condition and ensure it lasts for decades.

The installation was a moment of pride and joy for the people of Dasuya. A professional photographer and drone operator captured stunning visuals of the event, showcasing the intricate details and grandeur of the dome. The entire town celebrated as this architectural masterpiece took its place atop the burj, becoming a symbol of faith and unity.

At Rana Handicrafts International, we are proud to share the successful completion of the installation of a 9-foot diameter Gurdwara Sahib Dome (Gumbad) at Gurdwara Sahib in Nangal, Ropar, Punjab. This monumental project demonstrates the precision and craftsmanship we dedicate to creating the most durable and aesthetically beautiful Gurdwara domes in India and abroad.

Manufacturing Excellence and Craftsmanship:

Our domes are known for their premium quality, and the one we manufactured for this Gurdwara Sahib is no exception. The dome is made from high-quality multi-layered silicon fiber, ensuring that it can withstand all weather conditions. The central 9-foot Gurdwara dome is reinforced with a meticulously designed MS (mild steel) frame structure, which adds strength and stability to the dome. This structure is insulated to provide maximum protection against the changing weather, ensuring that the dome remains resilient for many years to come.

We understand the significance of maintaining the sacred aura and aesthetics of Gurdwara Sahib structures. That's why our domes go through several stages of quality checks. The final layer is a coat of weather-resistant golden paint, and we ensure that every surface is lacquered to preserve its lustrous shine for a minimum of 6 years. After that period, we recommend repainting to maintain its brilliance for decades.

Golden Paintwork Process:

The golden paintwork you see in the pictures and video showcases our high standards. This video demonstrates the precise application of the golden paint to the dome at our workshop before it was shipped to Nangal. Our team ensures that the paint is applied evenly, and the lacquer provides an additional protective coating to keep the dome looking radiant and fresh. This attention to detail ensures that the Gurdwara Sahib dome maintains its golden appearance, no matter the environmental conditions.

Domes in Detail:

In addition to the central 9-foot dome, we also supplied four smaller 2-foot diameter domes (gumbads) for the corners of the main structure, adding symmetry and grandeur to the design. These smaller domes are crafted using the same top-tier silicon fiber and are painted and lacquered in the same golden finish to ensure consistency and a majestic look.

Transportation and Installation:

After completing the manufacturing process and conducting the necessary checks, the dome was carefully loaded onto a transport truck at our workshop. We ensure that every product is securely packed and safely transported to the installation site. The pictures demonstrate the dome loaded and ready for transport, highlighting the attention to logistics as well as manufacturing.

This dome, with a diameter of 12 feet and a height of 18 feet, is reinforced with a robust MS Frame Structure to withstand the high winds and extreme temperatures of Washington, USA. Many other domes in the market, though visually appealing, are mere lightweight fiberglass shells that fail to withstand even moderate winds. Our Gurdwara Sahib Domes are made with multi-layered silicon fiber, reinforced with 1.6" square MS pipes, expertly bent as per structural engineer recommendations. This design allows the dome to effectively cut through winds, reducing the direct impact of strong gusts. The MS frame is treated with a high-quality, weather-resistant primer and painted in black to prevent corrosion, ensuring the dome’s longevity even in the most humid environments.

Life-Size Khalsa Sculptures:

Additionally, we have produced two life-size Khalsa Warrior Sculptures, made from high-quality fiberglass. These statues, meticulously painted to perfection, are to be placed at the Gurdwara Sahib’s entrance, symbolizing strength, valor, and Sikh heritage.

Superior Materials for Durability:

All our Gurdwara Sahib Domes, Palki Sahibs, and sculptures are crafted using the finest quality silicon fiber. The silicon fiber is layered with Tool Grade Resin and RPL /100 unsaturated polyester resin, combined with Emulsion Matt 450GSM and 600GSM Grade, resulting in an approximate thickness of 5 mm. The MS frame structure is included in all domes above 4 feet in diameter to ensure structural integrity and longevity.

We have crafted four stunning 3ft x 3ft Palki Sahibs to be placed at the four corners of the Gurdwara Sahib’s Darshani Deori (entry gate). We recently undertook a comprehensive turnkey project involving the manufacturing and installation of a 9-foot diameter Gurdwara Sahib Dome at Khadki, Pune (Maharashtra). This project also included the installation of various other smaller domes, specifically four 1-foot domes and four 2-foot domes.
