Rana Handicrafts International finished building and installing a beautiful 7-foot Gurdwara Dome (called a Gumbad). This dome is made from strong, long-lasting Silicon Fiber (also known as FRP) reinforced with MS Frame Structure, proving that they can combine great design with tough materials.
Step 1: Building the Strong Base
Making a dome this size requires precise work, starting with the structure:
-
Extra Strength: For domes bigger than 4 feet, like this one, they build a strong MS (Mild Steel) frame inside the fiber shell. This makes sure the dome can handle bad weather and lasts a very long time.
-
Smooth Finish: The builders carefully use fiberglass layers and a special fiberglass putty to fill any small holes and make the surface perfectly smooth.
Step 2: The Golden Look
After the shell is complete, it's time for the brilliant golden finish:
-
Prep Work: The dome is primed first.
-
Gold Paint: They use special, weather-proof golden paint that gives the dome its beautiful, shiny look.
-
Protection: The final step is adding a clear lacquer spray over the gold. This protective layer keeps the golden color bright and safe from the sun and rain for many years.
Step 3: The Big Lift and Installation
Moving and installing the finished dome was a big job:
-
Safety First: The dome was tightly wrapped in protective gold foil and orange tape to keep the golden finish safe during the move.
-
Team Effort: Even though the dome is strong, the fiber material makes it light enough for a team of workers to lift and carefully move it into place on the rooftop.

The 7-foot dome, topped with its final finial (Kalash), now stands beautifully installed. This dome is a great example of quality and tradition, built to last for decades if the client adhere to the instructions that we have given them - First, to get the dome painted after every 4-5 years, clean the dome after every 2 months or so... more information as how to take care of the Gurdwara Sahib Domes here..
Project Complete!
In addition to the majestic 7-foot dome, Rana Handicrafts International also contributed to the Gurdwara Sahib's inner sanctuary by delivering a beautiful and compact Home Palki Sahib (Model HM04). Designed specifically for smaller spaces, the HM04 Palki Sahib is crafted from the same high-quality, long-lasting Silicon Fiber and finished in an elegant golden color, complete with matching pillars and a Peeda Sahib (pedestal). This piece of sacred furniture was successfully delivered and installed in the Gurdwara Sahib located in the SBP Housing Park in Dera Bassi (Zirakpur, Near Chandigarh), ensuring that the devotion and quality seen on the rooftop are perfectly matched within the main hall.
